The Table Topics Generator is a free web application. This page explains exactly what data is stored, how it is used, and what we do not collect. There are no accounts, no advertising, and no selling of data.

1. Data stored in your browser (localStorage)

The app stores a small number of keys in your browser's localStorage so your preferences persist between visits. Nothing is sent to any server.

• theme-preference — "light" or "dark", set when you toggle the theme button.
• tt-welcomed — "1" once you dismiss the welcome modal, so it does not reappear.
• pwa-dismissed — "1" once you dismiss the install-to-home-screen banner.
• tt-session — a JSON array of the topics used in your current session (topic text, category, timestamp, duration). Used to power the Session Summary panel. Cleared when you click "Clear" in the panel or manually clear your browser storage.

You can delete all of this data at any time through your browser's settings (typically: Settings → Privacy → Clear browsing data → Cookies and site data, or the equivalent in your browser).

2. Service worker cache (offline support)

The app uses a service worker to cache the app shell, topics, and category data so the generator can continue working if your internet connection drops. This cache is stored entirely on your device and is managed automatically by the browser. It contains only app content (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and topics data) — no personal information.

3. Firebase Analytics

We use Firebase Analytics (provided by Google) to collect anonymous usage data. The events we track are:

• Page views
• Topic generated (includes the topic text and category name)
• Timer started, paused, reset, and completed (includes duration in seconds)
• Category selected
• PWA install prompt shown and outcome

These events contain no personally identifiable information. We do not track names, email addresses, location, or device identifiers. Firebase Analytics may collect aggregate, anonymised technical information such as browser type and country — see Google's Privacy Policy for full details on how Google handles this data.

4. What we do NOT collect

• No user accounts or passwords
• No email addresses
• No payment or financial information
• No precise or approximate location data
• No microphone or camera access
• No personally identifiable information of any kind

5. Third-party services

The only third-party service used is Firebase Analytics (Google). Topic and category data is fetched from our own AWS Lambda API. No other third-party trackers, advertising networks, or data brokers are used.

6. Children

This app does not knowingly collect any data from children under 13 years of age. It is a general-purpose speaking tool with no user accounts or data collection beyond the anonymous analytics described above.

7. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a revised "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
